An Andorran TikToker explodes over his car theft in Barcelona: "They've normalized it; the police said they couldn't do anything."

An Andorran TikToker explodes over his car theft in Barcelona: "They've normalized it; the police said they couldn't do anything."

“Maybe you've normalized it, but I've lived in Andorra for three years and I'm not used to it,” says indignant TikToker Xavi Esquerigüela. The influencer shared a bad experience through a post on his profile: the theft of his belongings from his car in a shopping center parking lot in Barcelona. According to the video's protagonist, the stolen items are worth more than 3,000 euros.

The content creator first shows the condition of the vehicle, with the window behind the passenger seat smashed. From there, they accessed the trunk where "they took everything," the robbery victim explains. Among the stolen items are "a Louis Vuitton bag, sportswear, and AirPods headphones," he explains.

After experiencing the situation, he naturally tried to find a solution. Esquerigüela approached the parking security staff and told them he'd been robbed. The response surprised him: "That happens a lot here. Go to the police and file a report."

During the conversation, the TikToker asked a very apt and natural question in this type of situation: "But aren't there security cameras here?" The response was not pleasant: "Yes, you can see the images, but we won't be releasing anything. We'll look into it and let you know."

Later, a young man wrote to him and explained that the cameras had recorded everything: "Three people got out of a car, looked inside the vehicle with a flashlight, and took everything. You could see the make of the car, the license plate, and the thieves."

The influencer quickly went to a police station, where he felt overwhelmed by the surreal situation. “I went and told them I'd been robbed. 'Another one? Sit over there,' they said, assuring me they'd call me. A moment passed, and a young man came in crying, explaining that he'd been attacked and his phone stolen. The response was the same. 'Another one? Sit over there next to this man.' They sat us there as if it were the place for people who'd been robbed,” he explained indignantly.

Once the wait was over, they called him into an office. “They asked me, 'Where did you go and at what time?' I gave them the details. They gave me the report, and when they gave me the paperwork, I asked, 'What do I do now with this?' and they replied, 'Nothing, it's just for the record,'” says Xavi Esquerigüela.

The content creator was fed up: "Proof of what? He hasn't looked at the car, the recordings, or anything," he confronted the police. He also showed them the location of his AirPods from his phone: "I can see exactly where my headphones are, they're in Badalona."

But the police ignored him. "You don't know how many robberies there have been here lately," or "There's nothing we can do there," the officers asserted. And they added a comment that left the TikToker stunned. "To tell you the truth, I'd talk to the insurance company to see if you can get something."

“I left there feeling furious... Not just because of the robbery, but because I felt unprotected. It was like I was the victim of some crime and I had to suck it up because there's no solution,” he says, disappointed. “We're normalizing it, but there's nothing normal about it. I just ask you not to call me selfish for leaving our country,” he concludes.
